Hwa Rang Do® Evergreen Club

The Hwa Rang Do® Evergreen Club is in it's second full year of representing Hwa Rang Do®'s presence in the Olympia Community. In our first year, we had a lot of fun, worked hard on many aspects of our training, and broadened our knowledge of this amazing Art. We have added grappling and point sparring to our weekly schedule and also teach Kumdo (sword fighting, similar to Japan's Kendo) to those interested. We are currently running classes 5 days a week.

Classes and instruction includes both Hwa Rang Do® and Tae Soo Do®, and we are accepting current students of Hwa Rang Do® and Tae Soo Do® as well as students with no prior martial arts experience. The Evergreen Club's mission is to provide quality instruction and encouragement to it's students, allowing them to grow as martial artists and individuals. Instructor Steeby is working closely with Dr. Joo Bang Lee, founder and Supreme Grand Master of Hwa Rang Do®, and other instructors and students from around the Northwest to ensure the long term success of this club and the Art that it represents.

Please feel free to come by and watch or participate in a free trial class or to discuss any questions that you have about Hwa Rang Do®, Tae Soo Do®, or the Evergreen Club. We look forward to hearing from you!

Winter Quarter Classes Announced

Winter classes will continue on our regular schedule, I look forward to working with my returning students again, meeting new students, and learning together with everyone.

Fall Quarter is starting NOW!

The 1st official class is October 9th, and while classes are scheduled through December 6th, you know that we will continue to show up and train as long as the doors are unlocked. One tennant that we can not forget is that any time we spend not training results in not only in missing a chance to improve yourself, but also that skill is lost when it is not used. If I miss a single class, I can tell. Everything is harder when I come back the next day and pick it up again. I can't imagine how hard it would be to miss a few weeks, or even a month. As Dr. Joo Bang Lee, Founder and Supreme Grand Master of Hwa Rang Do® says:

"If one does not train regularly, then do not face the enemy."

Spring Quarter Now in Swing!

Spring is in the air and there is no better time to harness all that extra energy and use it to get into shape for summer. We are working to add new students to our family, and to give our students what they need to live their life to their full potential. To that end, I would like to introduce:

  • Kid's classes - We are now welcoming kids from ages 5 and up to join us during our regular class schedule. We teach kids the martial art Tae Soo Do®, as well as teaching kids important life skills, attention skills, and confidence in themselves.
  • Hwa Rang Do® Only Class Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - As weather is warmer, please wear casual clothing to this class, as we will train outdoors when we can.

Winter Quarter Class Schedule Announced

Winter Quarter is just around the corner! We will be offering the same class schedule and location as the Fall Quarter, which is Sunday from 12:30 - 2:30 PM and Monday and Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Our first class will be Monday, January 8, we look forward to seeing you there.

This quarter we are also offering children's classes at the same times as our regular classes. If you know anyone with children ages 5 and older that are interested in learning martial arts, please let them know about this new offering!
